How it all began…
About 22 years ago, we travelled to the Costa Brava for our very first diving holiday.
One jump into that crystal-clear blue water, one look at the rugged cliffs and hidden coves… and we were lost. Deeply in love. Not only with the sea, but with everything this region has to offer.
From that moment on, the Catalan coast became our summer tradition. Every year we rented a different house — sometimes in the north, sometimes all the way south to the Ebro Delta. Together with our children, we discovered picturesque villages, idyllic beaches, waterfalls and so much more. Yet no matter how far we travelled, the Empordà always drew us back like a magnet.

In 2008, we opened our shop in Belgium — once again with a Spanish soul. We imported Spanish delicacies and wines, most of them from Catalonia. Our passion for Catalan gastronomy only grew stronger: the purity, the authenticity, the small producers working with heart and soul — that is what truly moved us.
We often joked: “If we can’t go to Spain, then we’ll bring Spain to Belgium.”
The dream of living in the Empordà never left us. We searched, but never quite found the perfect place… until we bought a holiday home in L’Estartit. It became our base here. We renovated it, made it comfortable, and enjoyed every visit as if it were the first.

And then, unexpectedly, everything changed. Just when we had put our search for a permanent home aside “for later”, she appeared: the masia in Sobrestany. One glance was enough — love at first sight, once again.
A traditional 16th-century masia. A raw gem, once part of the animal park that closed in 2009. Full of history, full of character.
Things moved fast — very fast. Within days, we made the decision and bought the farmhouse. Since then, we have transformed this untamed pearl into a warm, no-nonsense B&B, a place where everyone can feel at home. A place to enjoy everything that has touched us so deeply over the years: the beauty of the region, peace and quiet, nature, Catalan cuisine, diving, cycling, hiking and so much more.

And of course, there are our dogs.
For us, a home is not complete without paws tapping across the floor. From day one, it was clear: guests with dogs are more than welcome — as long as there is love and responsibility.
Llop, Jac and Sol are part of our family, and we are happy to introduce them to you. There are no limits on breed or weight here; only respect and care for everyone walking on four legs.
Welcome to Mas del Llop Blanc — where our dream became a home, and where we hope you will feel the same.
